>>I indentify these three lines as very poetic:

1. And now the state line felt like the Berlin wall

2. Cause I built you a home in my heart, With rotten wood, it decayed from the start

3. Made the skyline look like crooked teeth, In the mouth of a man who was devouring, us both.

>>I find these poetic because:

1. I think that the imagery is strong in this line and by comparing the distance he feels to the Berlin wall gets the message across that there is no way to cross over and the other side is a different world.

2. I think this line is very poetic because it gives a strong message of the failure of their relationship from the start. Even though it’s sad to think that they were doomed from the beginning, its very poetic in the song.

3. I admire this line because it personifies a sky line. He doesn’t just say that there were big buildings that overwhelmed him and his relationship, he says it in a creative way that the buildings were all teeth of a man and that man was taking them over.

DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE LYRICS
“Crooked Teeth”

It was one hundred degrees, as we sat beneath a willow tree,
Who's tears didn't care, they just hung in the air, and refused to fall, to fall.

And I knew I'd made horrible call,
And now the state line felt like the Berlin wall,
And there was no doubt about which side I was on.

Cause I built you a home in my heart,
With rotten wood, it decayed from the start.

Cause you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.
No you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.

I braved treacherous streets,
And kids strung out on homemade speed.
And we shared a bed in which I could not sleep,
At all, woo, hoo, woo, hooOoOo.

Cause at night the sun in retreat,
Made the skyline look like crooked teeth,
In the mouth of a man who was devouring, us both.

You're so cute when you're slurring your speech,
But they're closing the bar and they want us to leave.

And you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.
No you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.

I'm a war, of head versus heart,
And it's always this way.
My head is weak, my heart always speaks,
Before I know what it will say.

And you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.
No you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along...

I think that Wiley’s art is creative in how he combines different eras and styles of art. Although the subjects don’t always blend with the old fashioned backgrounds, I think he’s trying to make a point about old art. His point being that paintings of holy beings in the baroque era or elsewise were always painted as white people because of the era and people who painted them.

I like his paintings because they are very modern because the subjects wear clothes that we would see now but they also seem ancient because of the settings and style.

I think it is important to get art in the public eye so that if someone has a new idea it can get out in the open and other can grow and reflect off this idea. I think that Banksy and other artists like him use pen names so they don’t have to feel restrictions on what they create. Having a pen name gives artists a certain freedom because they don’t have to worry about protecting themselves.

I think that Banksy’s pieces are a creative way to show his opinions about different political issues. I think that because he makes these pieces without permission and when he wants gives it more attention and makes his message more powerful. I think that some grafitti is art, if it portrays a powerful message or is creative. I think it is good that Banksy gets his art in the public eye because obviously he feels strongly about certain issues and it’s a good way to get his voice heard.

The image I posted is a picture of Chicago at night reflecting over Lake Michigan. I liked this image because it shows the bustle of the city but also shows a more calming side of the city with nature. I chose this image personally because I like Chicago and the feeling of a big city. The busyness is exciting and city is urban and pretty. This image is intereseting because of the reflection of the lights on the water and that’s what grabbed my attention.
